I was born in Australia but both of my parents come from Greece. This has given me a great interest and passion for travelling, exploring new cultures and meeting new people. I have been teaching English for about fifteen years and began my career in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil where I lived and taught for two wonderful years. I've travelled a lot - India, Nepal, Africa, Europe, USA, Asia, Pacific Islands, New Zealand and South America and loved every minute of the adventures and the life education. I have been at Metro College for about ten years and really enjoy my work, especially meeting such a range of diverse students from all different countries. Since happily settling down with a husband and a baby two years ago, I now only work part time. I really enjoy trekking, swimming at the beach, dancing, films and international food. CarolTeacher
Hi! I was born and raised in Sydney and I have never lived anywhere else, so I really enjoy meeting people from other countries and learning about different cultures. I worked in university administration for many years and always enjoyed talking with the international students. I often found myself helping them with their English, so I decided to become an ESL teacher so I could help them all the time. I have a honours degree in English from the University of Sydney and a postgraduate diploma in teaching from the University of Technology. I love English and I really enjoy passing it on to other people. When I'm not teaching, I enjoy cooking, cycling, reading, going to the movies, and hanging out with my son. VaniTeacher
Hi, I'm Vani. For the past four years I have enjoyed working with foreign students teaching General English, Academic English as well as Business Communication. In 1973 I achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree (Languages and Psychology). Prior to teaching I worked in the hair and beauty industry for 30 years, which was an interesting, exciting and challenging experience for me as it enabled me to mix with people of all ages, of different nationalities, and from all different walks of life. In 2002 I decided it was time to change career, so I did the CELTA course and then in 2005 I completed a Masters in Applied Linguistics. I feel very fortunate to be able to work as a teacher, teaching a language that I love and being able to play a part in your Australian experience. StevenTeacher
Greetings! My name is Stephen. I’ve lived all my life in Sydney, Australia. It’s a good place to live, work and play. My wife and I live near the beach and go there whenever we can with our children. My wife is from Indonesia, so we travel there whenever we can too. I have received a Degree in Fine Art (College of Fine Art, New South Wales University); a Graduate Diploma in Education (Sydney University); and TESOL Certificate, (N.S.W. University, for teaching English to speakers of other languages). I believe that learning another language is the key to the culture, and a great way to create understanding in the world. I was born in Southampton in England and grew up in nearby Winchester. I started playing football at a young age with my brothers and still continue to do so, now playing for GCA and a Korean Team in Lidcombe. Going to France on family summer holidays was the catalyst for an interest in travelling and other countries and their cultures. I studied Geography at Sheffield University (where global warming was already a concern in 1990) and went Interrailing around Europe with three friends. Wanting to see more of the world, I completed a TEFL teaching course in 1994 and secured a job in Japan; where I stayed for six years and spent my time visiting Asia and playing football at a Tokyo university. In Tokyo I met my Australian wife and moved to Sydney in 2001, getting married in 2004. I continue to teach English, having worked here at Metro College since 2003. CelineTeacher
Hello! I'm from England, and I am here due to my travels which began in November 2003. I was born and brought up in London, and enjoyed living there very much. However, I woke up one morning and decided it was time for a change...a big change! There were also a few ambitions I wanted to fulfill and places to I had to see, so I headed for the other side of the world for a bit of an adventure. And, of course some more sunshine! London is great, but the weather is not always suitable for a B.B.Q! I love Sydney and have ended up living here for a lot longer than I thought I would ! The way of life really appeals to me, and I enjoy teaching students from different parts of the world. I have a degree in teaching ( B.Ed with hons I have been teaching for approximately six years now, and have a mixture of experience including teaching both adults and children. |
