Kylie Black - Director of Studies

Kylie originally trained as a high school English literature and History teacher but her love of travelling sent her abroad where she discovered the great rewards in teaching English language. In total she has been teaching for over 14 years and has worked at this college for more than 5 years. She has been fortunate enough to teach on all the programs offered by Metro English College and while she no longer teaches full time, her love of teaching means that she makes every effort to try to spend time in the classroom. She really enjoys working at Metro as every day brings new challenges and new students so work is always an interesting place to be.

When not working she enjoys spending time travelling, photography, reading anything and everything, listening to one of her many CDs, bush walking and catching up with friends and family.

Vicky Rusina - Head Teacher

Vicky has been the Head Teacher at Metro College since May 2007, and she loves the mix of students from all over the world!

In total, she has twelve years experience in English teaching, including seven years in Indonesia. She was previously an IELTS examiner and her teaching background is very wide ranging. It encompasses everything from teaching children, teenagers and adults at all levels, to English for Academic Purposes and English for Tourism and Business. She also has experience running workshops and courses for teachers and university lecturers in communicative language teaching techniques.

Her main interest in her spare time is playing the violin. Over the years she has played in many different bands and orchestras, but these days she is happy to jam with friends, playing mostly jazz or blues.
